We'll explore breath as it is applied to the relationships between gravity and alignment, alignment and strength, strength and ease, ease and opening. This workshop is focused primarily on vertical and standing postures. It is gently dynamic and all are welcome. Enrollment is limited to 8 participants.

Living in the Balance (Vivre en equilibre)
Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 11h30-13h30, €40
The beauty of balance is that it isn't just vertical or linear. It also includes balancing left and right, upper and lower, interior and exterior, harmonizing the different aspects of our being, our energies and efforts. This workshop allows us to explore the ongoing and multi-faceted aspects of balance as a living and ongoing process. This workshop is dynamic. Enrollment is limited to 8 participants.

Feet in the Air (Inversions)
Sunday, May 26, 2013, €40 (advance booking required)
This workshop will focus on and extension of balancing, applying the principles and tools introduced in the first two workshop to focus on inverted postures, including developing the strength and physical organization needed for headstands and handstands. Inversions stimulate the endocrine and immune systems and allow the energy in the lower chakras to flow toward the heart center, nourishing the heart and brain and offering new perspectives.

The Healing Heart

In ancient Eastern traditions it has been said that the mind is rooted in the heart. Well, Western science is finally catching up. In utero, we know that the heart develops first and the brain follows, stemming from it as it develops.

According to the Institute of Heart Math, the heart emits an electo-rmagnetic field of energy that is nearly 1000 times stronger than the brain's. It can be measured several feet away from the body and affects not only our own immune system, but also the energetic fields of those around us. Negative emotions, such as fear, anger and worry, create a chaotic field, while positive emotions, like love, joy and compassion, produce stronger, coherent fields. Science fiction writers, yogis and other esoteric explorers may have known this for centuries, but it is nice to have the science from psychoneuroimmunology and neurocardiology to back it up!
